THE NOTABLE POSSIBILITIES IN THE NAME OF JESUS
John 14 verse 12, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Verse 13, And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Verse 14; If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
We are looking at three positive :
1. THE MIGHTY, POWERFUL NAME OF JESUS
2. THE MEDIATING, PROPITIATING NAME OF JESUS
3. THE MERCIFUL PROVISIONS THROUGH THE NAME OF JESUS
POINT 1: THE MIGHTY, POWERFUL NAME OF JESUS
Matthew 1 verse 21; And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Act 4 Verse 10, Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
Verse 11, This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Verse 12; Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Philippians 2 verse 9; Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Verse 10, That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Verse 11; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
POINT 2: THE MEDIATING, PROPITIATING NAME OF JESUS
1 Timothy 2 verse 3, For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Verse 4, Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 ; For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1 John 2 verse1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 ; And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Ephesians 4 verse 31, Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
Verse 32, And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
POINT 3: THE MERCIFUL PROVISIONS THROUGH THE NAME OF JESUS
1 Peter 2 verse 1, Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
Verse 2, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
Verse 10; Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Hebrews 7 verse 25, Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Verse 26, For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
Hebrews 7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
