How to make a world good

No longer a dark world
*TEXT:*
John 1 verse 1-9; In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

*MESSAGE*
The period known as the Dark Age was between 500 and 1500 AD of the Christian era. The Roman Empire, with its flourishing civilization, had fallen, plundered and pauperised by the hordes of Barbarians that overran Rome. Bereft of the Iight that the great Roman culture offered, the world slid into centuries of degradation, disease and depression. Historians agree that the era was a difficult one characterised by famine, plagues, conflicts and general distress.
But, according to the Bible passage today, the whole of mankind suffered a worse condition: spiritual darkness beyond that of the Dark Age, which was only of a physical dimension. This darksome state was leading humanity to eternal perdition until Jesus Christ stepped in to bring in His redeeming light.
As the presence of light dismisses darkness and all its evil practices and effects, so the advent of Jesus in the world has proved a solution to the burden of sin in those who embrace Him as their Lord and Saviour. If you have been plagued by sin-inflicted afflictions, the solution is His Light. If you are weighed down by guilt because of alienation from God through your sin, the answer is Jesus. If heaven is shut and showers of blessing are held back, Jesus holds the key to reopen heaven. If communal unrest, socioeconomic and political challenges threaten to overwhelm the society, let the people turn to Jesus. He is the Prince of peace. He will still the storms.
All the philosophy, science and technology, political and economic theories man has since thrown at his problems without humbly settling for Christ's light have pushed him deeper and deeper into darkness. The wise must go to the Light-Bearer for deliverance from the power and plague of darkness.
*✍THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* Christ's light dispels darkness here on earth and leads the way to heaven.
*BIBLE IN ONE YEAR* GENESIS 7-10.
*MEDITATION*
Who is this "Son of man"?
1. "In the beginning (dateless past) was the Word" shows the Word (Lord Jesus) has been living before He was born. His birth was not the beginning of His existence", v1.
2. "...and the Word was with God".. shows He and God are co-eternal; non is older and none of them is created, v1. Your personality cannot be separated from your word.
3. "...and the Word was God" means Jesus Himself was God and a distinct personality from the well known God, Who is God the father, v1.
4. "The same was in the beginning with God" for emphasis means Jesus before birth is the same as Jesus after birth; and He is the same personality, v2.
5. "All things were made by Him", v3. Jesus is the Creator of man, angels, the world and the universe, including Lucifer and you.
6. "...without Him was not any thing made that was made" v3. This is for emphasis in case you find it difficult to swallow the earlier statement
7. "In Him was life; and the life was the light of men" v4, compare with v9- "That was the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world" Since "light" is synonymous with life, it means it is Jesus that gives life to every human being at the point of conception. Nobody is a child of accident. Can you see why abortion and murder are serious sins?
8. "And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not" v9. The light of Jesus is a mystery to the powers of darkness which is ever beyond their understanding.
*Q* What are the implications of Jesus being your Creator and that of angels including the corrupted angels (demons) and Lucifer (Satan)?
*Prayer points*
Give Jesus full *praises and worship* as your Creator🙏
Bow your spirit and soul to Christ in full surrender and *confess Him as your Lord and Saviour*🙏
Ask the Holy Spirit to *reveal more* of
Jesus to you🙏
Pray that Jesus will bring everyone into a *closer walk* with Him🙏
